Welcome to AAA Lakeside Storage! We understand that choosing the right storage unit can feel overwhelming. That’s why we’re here to break it down for you. Our facility offers a variety of unit sizes to accommodate everything from a few boxes to an entire household, business, or more. Keep reading to determine what will work best for you!
1. What Do You Need to Store?
The first step is to make a list of everything you plan to store. Group items by size and category—for example, furniture, boxes, appliances, or vehicles. This will give you a clearer picture of the space required.
2. Understand Unit Sizes
We have many different unit sizes availble to accomodate a wide variety of needs. Here’s a quick overview of some of the most popular storage unit sizes we offer and what typically fits in each:
- 5×8 (40 sq. ft.): This compact size is perfect for small needs, such as storing seasonal items, a few pieces of furniture, or several boxes. Think of it as a walk-in closet.
- 5×10 (50 sq. ft.): Ideal for a small studio apartment’s worth of items. It can fit a couch, mattress, and a few boxes or smaller furniture pieces.
- 10×10 (100 sq. ft.): Great for a one-bedroom apartment’s belongings. This unit can hold larger furniture items, appliances, and several boxes.
- 10×20 (200 sq. ft.): This size accommodates a standard two- to three-bedroom home. It’s ideal for larger furniture, appliances, and multiple boxes.
- 12×30 (360 sq. ft.): Perfect for a four-bedroom home or small business inventory. You can store large furniture, bulky items, and even vehicles like motorcycles, ATV’s, or standard size SUV’s.
- 12×60 (720 sq. ft.): This is one of the largest we offer, ideal for significant storage needs such as storing the contents of a large house, multiple vehicles, or business equipment.
3. Think Vertically
Our units have plenty of vertical space, so don’t forget to take advantage of stacking! Use sturdy boxes and shelving units to maximize your storage efficiency.
4. Use Visual Tools
Consider using an online storage unit calculator or visiting our facility to see the units in person. Our staff are available Monday-Saturday from 9am to 6pm and are happy to show you different unit sizes! This can help you visualize the space and make a confident decision.
5. Factor in Accessibility
If you’ll need frequent access to your items, choose a slightly larger unit to allow for walkways and easier retrieval. For long-term storage of items you won’t need regularly, a snug fit might be fine. Some of our larger units also offer a pull-through option which means there are 2 doors on the unit. This makes accessing vehicles, boats, or anything else even easier.
6. Ask for Guidance
Our friendly staff is always here to help! We can discuss your storage needs and recommend the best unit size for you. You’re also welcome to bring a list or photos of your items when you visit, and we’ll help you narrow down the most economically friendly solution for your needs..
